On 3rd February 2024, Sishya organized its 40th Annual Inter-House Athletics Meet. The four School Houses competed in a fierce but friendly manner for the coveted Sports Shield and March Past Shield.
The meet began with the Chief Guest Maj. Gen. R. Shankaran, MG. MED. HQ Dakshin Bharat Area, being welcomed by the Board of Trustees. This was followed by the march past of the student body led by Tabitha George Vengal, the Head Girl, followed by Bhavesh S K and Amritha Ravishankar, the Games Captains. Then marched in the four houses, led by their House Captains and the School Band. The senior contingents were followed by their junior counterparts. The school ground was decked in the house colours of yellow, blue, red and green.
Once the four houses congregated facing the centre of the field, the school flag was hoisted, the games torch was lit, and the Chief Guest declared the meet open. Rudr Gutgutia of Class 12 was awarded for creating a new Meet Record in Shot – put in ‘A’ Division – Boys. His throw was at a distance of 12.39 m. He broke the previous record (12.21 m) set by Tuhin Menon in 2001.
To commemorate the school’s 40th annual athletics meet the students of classes 6,7 & 8 showcased a fast paced and energetic Zumba routine.
Narmada and Sutlej house tied for the first place followed by Cauvery and Godavari with only a single point difference between them. Cauvery won the Marching Shield for senior boys and tied with Narmada for the Marching Shield for senior girls. The Junior Marching Cup was won by Sutlej. The cup for the Drill was won by Narmada and Godavari took home the shield for the best disciplined house. Ezra Ivan Nargunam of Cauvery and Anahita Gopinath Elias of Godavari were declared the Best Athletes for the year.
The school’s 40th annual meet came to an end amidst the strains of “Drummer’s Delight” and “Abide with Me”. The Inter House Athletics Meet proved to be an outstanding and a memorable event.

The 36th Annual Inter House Athletics Meet was held on 10th February 2018. The Chief Guest was Mr. T.S. Balasubramaniam, DIG (Retd) ICG and Administrative Head of TCS, Siruseri, who declared the meet open.
The 35th Annual Inter House Athletics Meet was held on 4th February 20l7. The Chief Guest was Mr. Hemant Kumar Sinha, IAS, Former Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu who declared the meet open.
The 34th Annual Inter House Athletics Meet was held on 27th February 2016. The Chief Guest was Brig (Ms) R. Rajshree, Commandant, MH Chennai who declared the meet open. Five new meet records were set this year.
The 33rd Annual Inter House Athletics Meet was held on 28th February 2015 and began with the Chief Guest Mr. Rajib Kumar Hota, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax being welcomed by the Board of Trustees.
The 32nd Annual Inter House Athletics Meet was held on 22nd February 2014. The meet began with the Chief Guest Mr. Ashok Thakkar, President of the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association being welcomed by the Board of Trustees.
The Chief Guest of the 31st Annual Inter House Athletics Meet was Mr. Ramesh Krishnan, Junior Singles Wimbledon and French Open Champion in 1979 and former Davis Cup Captain of India, and was held on 23rd February 2013.
