While the infrastructure continued to develop and the school continued to grow in repute, Sishya continued to keep the student number constant to ensure individual attention for all its students. The simultaneous expansion of the city, however, succeeded in increasing Sishya aspirants in the Chennai environs posing both a geographical and admissions hurdle to city residents.
Thus, in 2010, Dr. C.L. Metha Sishya OMR school was opened in Thoraipakkam on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), in association with the C.L. Metha Trust. The OMR branch upholds the agenda of nurturing excellence and individuality through the existing comprehensive facilities, faculty, and infrastructure.
The School had been granted affiliation by the Council for the +2 and the first batch will appear in March 2019. The kindergarten and first standard students have a dedicated wing, which houses a Music and Physical Training room apart from the classrooms. The Senior School block was inaugurated in 2017 and a new Junior School block is under construction.
Sports and Games, having always been a tenet of singular importance in the Sishya philosophy, is no less revered at Sishya, OMR, which has a large sports field, and an amply equipped playground for the younger students.
The school is founded on the same principles and values as its associate in Adyar. Plans are afoot to expand the school infrastructure one building at a time, to enable Sishya OMR to meet its objectives in education and to extend its enduring spirit to a growing populace.
