Independence Day 2016

Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour in school on the morning of August 15th. Our trustee, Mrs. Lily Thomas was the Chief Guest and our Principal; Mrs. Omana Thomas hoisted the National Flag. The Head Boy Advaith Suresh gave an inspiring speech on the revolutions that have come about after India’s independence and he also appealed to all present to bring about more changes to help India progress further.

This was followed by a cultural programme – a very colourful variety of song and dance in the school auditorium. It began with a dance drama by students of Class 3 followed by a dance performance by the Class 4 students. Next up were Rania Dadha and Krishna Arvind of Class 5 who made speeches. The programme by the senior students began with a speech by Ritika Jain of Class 12 which was followed by a medley of Tamil classic songs beautifully rendered by Saindhavi, Sanjana and Aadrika also of Class 12. After this there was another dance by the Class 9 children and a demonstration of the various SUPW activities by the students of Classes 9 – 11.

The National Anthem beautifully performed in sign language by a few students was a fitting finale to the days programme.
