Senior School Day 2017

The Annual Senior School Day programme was held on the 31st of August 2017. The Chief Guest this year was Mr. R. Natraj, retired I.P.S. officer and M.L.A from the Mylapore constituency. The Class 10 ICSE students began the programme with an invocation. This was followed by the emotional ‘Adieu’, three farewell songs rendered by the ISC Class of 2018 as part of their last School Day programme.

Dr. Salim Thomas gave the Welcome Address and introduced the Chief Guest. Mrs. Omana Thomas presented the Principal’s Report, highlighting the achievements of the school and the students in the past year.

The toppers of the ICSE and ISC 2017 Board Exams were awarded prizes for their outstanding results after which the Chief Guest addressed the gathering.

The Senior School play this year was a collection of myths and legends from down the ages. “Myths and legends of yore” gave us an insight into the stories behind the various myths and characters that have made history. An introduction ‘Mythological Mosaic’ was presented by the students of Class 6. This was followed by the Mesopotamian legend which told the story of ‘Inanna and the Huluppu tree’. ‘Osiris and Isis’ was the name of the Egyptian legend. The Greek legend told the story of ‘Jason and the Golden Fleece’. ‘The twilight of the Gods’ was the title of the Norse legend and the last item was the Indian legend which depicted ‘The story of Holi’. The breath taking backdrops, superb acting and the beautifully choreographed dance scenes were very well depicted on stage. The actors, narrators and dancers gave a spell-binding performance.
