Senior School Day 2013

The Annual Senior School Day programme was held on the 31st of August. The Chief Guest this year was Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis, the British Deputy High Commissioner, Chennai. The Class 10 ICSE students began the programme with an invocation. This was followed by the emotional ‘Adieu’, four farewell songs rendered by the ISC Class of 2013 as part of their last School Day programme.

Dr. Salim Thomas gave the Welcome Address and introduced the Chief Guest. Mrs. Omana Thomas presented the Principal’s Report, highlighting the achievements of the school and the students in the past year.

The toppers of the ICSE and ISC 2012 Board Exams were awarded prizes for their outstanding results after which the Chief Guest addressed the gathering.
The school play featured this year was an adaptation of the evergreen musical ‘Mary Poppins”. The play centres on a magical English nanny, Mary Poppins. She is blown by the East wind to Number Seventeen Cherry Tree Lane, London, and into the Banks’ household to care for their children, Jane and Michael. Encounters with chimney sweeps, shopkeepers and various adventures follow until Mary Poppins abruptly leaves the family as “the winds have changed”. Different children played the same character at different parts of the play. The ever popular songs were enjoyed by one and all. The play was successfully staged and made for a very enjoyable evening.
