The Inter House Debate competition was held on 12th of July 2018. This year’s topics were ‘Is Artificial Intelligence the biggest threat to human existence’ and ‘World War III will be fought over water’. The participants from Senior School were required to speak either for or against the topic for five minutes, followed by a question session by the judges. The judges for the competition were Ms. Samiha Gopal and Ms. Yamuna.
The students put forth thought-provoking and creative ideas. The audience was spell-bound at the in-depth knowledge of the students. The amount of research undertaken by them was quite evident.
The debate stood up to the high standards set by Sishya and the audience left the hall both enlightened and invigorated.
Godavari House emerged the best house and Ram Mukund Kripa of Godavari was adjudged the best speaker. Narmada house stood second followed by Cauvery and Sutlej respectively.

‘The government should force feed people on hunger strikes’ and ‘Advertisements promoting fairness products should be banned’ were this year’s topics. Participants spoke either for or against the topic for five minutes.
This year’s topics were ‘Natural Calamities are caused by humans’ and ‘West must retaliate with force against recent killing of journalists’. Participants spoke either for or against the topic for five minutes.
This year’s topics were ‘Food Security Bill is a Political Stunt’ and ‘Genetic Engineering is a blessing in disguise’. The participants were required to speak either for or against the topic for five minutes.
The Inter House Debate competition was held on 28th of September 2012. This year’s topics were ‘Central Government is facing policy paralysis’ and Media veers towards sensationalism instead of reporting accurate news’.
