Alumni vs Student Debate 2025

The Sishya Alumni Versus Sishya Debate was held on Friday, 19^th December, 2025. The Alumni Team comprised of Mr. Srinath Sridevan, Ms. Avanti Balachander, Mr.Sibhi Arvind and Mr. Yash Chokhani.

The Sishya Team comprised of Aarv Seth, Aarit Mahesh, Tasha Neethirajan and Vaishali Sita Noronha. The topic for debate was
‘Other countries should follow Australia’s example and ban social media for under-16s’.
Interestingly, the draw of lots made the students, the proposition for the motion and the Alumni, the opposition. The debate was exciting and heated, with no Points of Information allowed by the speakers. This did infuse a bit of humour and laughter into the event. Both teams put up a spirited show, much to the delight of the audience.

Managing Trustee, Dr. Salim Thomas, the judge for the event, gave feedback to the students and the engrossed audience was overjoyed when Sishya was declared winners. Yash Chokhani from the Alumni team was declared the Best Speaker.
