Interact Club of Sishya - 2024

The Interact Club has been an integral part of Sishya since its inception in 1982. Under the mandate of the Adyar Rotary Club, the Interact club consistently works towards serving the community and uplifting those in need.

“Service Above Self” – a phrase that defines the Interact Club, perfectly encapsulates the mission the organisation is guided by. Each year, students of Class 11 take up leadership roles and organise a plethora of activities, ranging from bake sales to newspaper drives all with the aim of raising funds for those underprivileged or in suffering. The proceeds are then utilised to donate in kind, to various causes across the city.

The Interact Club is a programme which provides young adults a platform to give back to the community. It’s a place where students come together to step up, take initiative and lead meaningful projects that give back to the community. For the last 42 years, The Interact Club has been shaping responsible future citizens of our country.

INSTALLATION CERMONY

The Installation Ceremony of the Interact Club 2024-25 was conducted on 30th September 2024. The Chief Guest who graced the occasion was Mrs. Meenakshi Periakaruppan, along with other key Rotarians. The Club for this year consists of the following students: Laxman P.C., the President, Aadhit Udipi Rau, the Vice-President; Umang Dugar, the Secretary and Aneeksha Shyam, the Treasurer.

The Office bearers are Adhrit Suresh, Dakshata R and Siddharth Dugar. The group leaders include Rishabh Narayanan, Neil Ryan, Elijah Jaden Victor, Khushii Galada, Samaara Medekar, Aanya Kumar, Sai Shreya S, Vibhav Jhaver and Nidhyana Kathiravan.

Details of the donations made by the club for 2024-2025

DEAN Foundation Donation: Rs 79,800 was donated towards the purchase of steel almirah, plastic chairs, fans and cots for the children’s cancer ward.
Maithree NGO: ⁠Rs 50,000 was donated towards the purchase of training equipment for special children.
Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust ⁠: Rs. 30,000 was donated towards the purchase of therapy equipment for children with special needs.
