The year 2022 etched itself into the annals of history for Sishya, Adyar as it commemorated a magnificent milestone – 50 years of unparalleled excellence. The Golden Jubilee Celebration was spectacular, uniting students, alumni, teachers, and well-wishers in a grand festivity that radiated pride, nostalgia, and joy.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K.Stalin. Avl, whose inauguration speech resonated with heartfelt admiration for Mr.K.I Thomas’ vision that childhood should never be stolen from children. Lauding Sishya for its extraordinary contributions to education and society, the Chief Minister emphasized its pivotal role in shaping future leaders and trailblazers across diverse fields, and how Sishya’s motto “Aspire and Excel” served as a maxim that schools across the state should follow.
The celebration began with a performance by the school Choir and following this, the opening address was delivered with eloquence and passion by Dr.Salim Thomas.
Mr. Thomas transported the audience down memory lane and highlighted the transformative power of the institution’s values and education. To commemorate this anniversary, the school unveiled a special video presentation that beautifully encapsulates its core values, achievements and the journey that has made it a tower of learning over the decades. Through heartfelt testimonials, footage from the archives and glimpses of current activities, the video highlighted the principles that have guided the school since its inception – Respect, Integrity, Inclusivity and a commitment to holistic education.
Our Principal Mrs. Omana Thomas delivered an empowering speech that left a lasting impression on all. She emphasized the importance of cherishing the present while preparing for the future.
On 10.1.2023, Sishya School had the privilege of hosting a unique art workshop conducted by the renowned Indian artist, Anjolie Ela Menon.
