KIT Thomas Oration 2014
The KIT Thomas Oration is an annual event held in April to commemorate the memory of the founder Mr. K. I. Thomas. An eminent speaker is invited to address the senior students, the faculty, parents and the public on different issues, mainly pertaining to education.
This year, the oration was held on the 25th of July. Mr. Vijay Amritraj, legendary tennis player turned commentator, was the Chief Guest at this annual event. The hall was packed to capacity and the topic ‘Does Education get in the way of a Professional Sportsman’ was of great interest to all.
Mr. Amritraj delivered a lively speech punctuated with anecdotes and compelling accounts of tennis matches and his escapades in school. He had a word of advice to the scores of parents present, asking them to let their children follow their dreams, while ensuring they were provided with access to education.
