KIT Thomas Oration 2013

The KIT Thomas Oration is an annual event held in April to commemorate the memory of the founder Mr. K. I. Thomas. An eminent speaker is invited to address the senior students, the faculty, parents and the public on different issues, mainly pertaining to education.

This year, the oration was held on the 12th of June. Mrs. Brinda Somaya, Architect and Urban Conservationist, was the Chief Guest at this annual event. The hall was packed to capacity and the topic ‘Weaving Architecture – Conserving the Old, building the New’ was of great interest to all. In her speech, Mrs. Somaya spoke passionately about preserving the beauty of the architecture of old buildings and also about successfully constructing suitable buildings in small towns and villages keeping in mind the needs of the semi-urban and rural communities there.
