Rangoli Competition 2016

The Inter House Rangoli Competition was held on the 12thof February 2016. The theme for this year’s competition was the ‘Spirit of Chennai’. The judge for the event was Mrs. Lalitha Lakshman.
Cauvery’s rangoli titled ‘More helpers than victims’ showcased the floods that ravaged the city. They showed how various religious came together to hold hands and reach out to the victims with the basic necessities of life. ‘Namma Chennai’ was the theme of Godavari’s rangoli and they portrayed the music and dance festival of Chennai. There was a dancer, a tambura and a cup of filter coffee in their rangoli bringing out the essence of the city. Narmada also depicted the floods in their rangoli ‘Unity in diversity – Namma Chennai’ in which they used a temple as a landmark and the submerged city with helping hands reaching out to the victims. Sutlej’s rangoli showed the devastating effects of the floods in their rangoli ‘An ocean of humanity’ with the Chennai Central station as their landmark and a sea of hands reaching out to the city of Chennai.
