The
Annual School Exhibition was held on 8th November 2008.
This year, the rain decided not to play spoilsport for
once, much to the relief of Class 11, whose attempts
at Street Theatre and display of street food would have
otherwise been a washout!
Beginning with
the juniors, L.K.G. put up a display on the various
means of transport, while U.K.G explored the depths
of the ocean. Class 1 emphasized the importance of safety
– at home, at school and on the road. Other classes
proudly presented projects on a variety of subjects,
including textiles and fashion, the world of vertebrates,
current issues like global warming and the history of
everyday inventions. Class 8 drew crowds with their
exhibit on chocolate, complete with a chocolate fountain
and castle! They also screened a mouthwatering movie,
“Yours Sinfully”.
Class 7 explored
the realm of advertising, from cell phones to fast food,
along with a fashion show. Class 9 brought to light
the many festivals of South India, while Class 10 put
up a short video presentation on Coorg and the Adyar
estuary.
Class 12 bid an
emotional farewell to Sishya with a movie titled, “Reflections”,
based on the best experiences of their school lives.
The students watched the movie again and again ( and
again ), until there was not a dry eye in the auditorium.
The artwork on
display by the senior Art students was much appreciated
by all. The products of the SUPW classes, which included
Madhubani paintings, soft toys and bookends were put
up for sale.
All in all, the
School Exhibition was a great success, reflecting the
efforts of all the students and the teachers involved.
