The KIT Thomas Oration is an annual event held in April to commemorate the memory of the founder Mr. K.I.Thomas. An eminent speaker is invited to address the senior students, the faculty, parents and the public on different issues, mainly pertaining to education.

This year, the oration was held on the 14th of April. Mr. Shashi Tharoor was the Chief Guest at this annual event. A politician of note, a gifted speaker and a well renowned writer, Mr. Tharoor’s name evoked at lot of excitement in Chennai. The hall was packed to capacity and the topic “India & China: Competition, Co-operation or Conflict”, was of great interest to all.

Mr. Tharoor’s speech, explaining the problems and their possible solutions between the two major countries like India and China – was enlightening as well as enjoyable.
