Athletic Meet was held on the 26th of February 2011
at the Sishya Grounds. This year, there were 9 schools
which participated in the meet.

bagged the Overall Championship with 106 points followed
by Abacus Montessori School with 87 points.
Mrs. Shyamala Christopher, the
Headmistress inaugurated the Meet. The Chief Guest for
the event was Mrs. Lily Thomas, the Trustee of the school
and she distributed the trophies and medals to the winners.

SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2011
The Fifth Sishya Inter-School
Football Tournament was held at the Sishya Grounds on
8th and 9th July 2011. This tournament is held for boys
under 14 years.
It is a league fixture and the five participating schools

was our Senior Master, Mr. T. Rajendran.

The 10th Sishya Inter School Basketball
Tournament was held on the 15th of July 2011. This is
a tournament organized in the Under 17 category.
It was of a league fixture with four schools participating.

The Principal, Mrs. Omana Thomas,

– TEAM EVENTS
FOOTBALL:
At the 9th Padma Bhushan Lady Andal Inter School
Football tournament, Sishya boys won the trophy
in the Under 12 years category and in the Under
14 years category they were runners-up.
The Alumni Association
of KV IIT Chennai organized an Inter School 5 a
Side Football tournament on the 4th and 5th of August
and our boys team placed fourth. The girls however
were Overall Winners with Aastha Malik of Class
9 bagging the coveted Best Player of the Tournament
award.
BASKETBALL:
At the Association of ICSE & ISC Regional Sports
Meet held at the V M J Hr. Secondary School, Madurai,
the Sishya Senior Boys team was declared winners
while the Senior Girls team was runners-up. The
Junior boys team reached the semi-final stage.
SWIMMING:
At the Tamil Nadu State Sub Junior Aquatic Championship
held at Chennai, Sumer Malhotra of Class 7 won gold
in the 50 m and 100 m breast stroke and silver in
the 50 m freestyle events in the Boys Group III
Category.
At the Association of ICSE & ISC Regional Sports
Meet held at the V M J Hr. Secondary School, Madurai,
Krithika Prasad of Class 9 placed first in the 50
m breast stroke and 50 m back stroke while Nikita
Bhaiya of Class 6 secured gold in 100 m freestyle
and 50 m freestyle events.
